The Foot!

We practiced measuring accurately by the foot, with our learning buddies.  We created a foot book where we drew, measured and recorded the number of feet each thing was!

O'Seamus the Leprechaun

I am sure you have heard about our naughty leprechaun, O'Seamus.  He has played pranks on our class all week!  Today, we decided to build traps to catch him.  The class got to chose materials, and talk about their plan of action.  Look at these THOUGHTFUL traps!

Odyssey of the Mind (OM): Kindergarten Edition!

We have a few students from our class that have been planning and prepping skits for OM competition.  These 5 year olds came up with a script, built the props, and wrote a song and dance number!  The theme was "prehistoric art festival."  They stole the show!!! We are all so proud of their performance at school last week.  Enjoy the pictures!

Waiting patiently to perform!

Robert Munsch Author Study

During March is Reading Month, our kindergarten class will be doing an author's study on Robert Munsch! Today, we sat down with Mrs. Guy's class and read a couple stories over the ELMO.  We also looked at his web page and listened to Robert Munsch read a few of his stories! You can check it out at home, too.

His books are perfect for talking about characters and settings.  The characters he uses are based on real children he meets!  Enjoy his website!

Dr. Seuss' Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by reading several of his books and writing about thing 1 and thing 2 visiting our houses! We especially enjoyed making our elephant ears and pretending we were Horton, from Horton Hears a Who!

Gravity and forces!
