Home Activities

  • We are adding new words to our word wall each week!  As we read, the children look for these words!  They can find them in books as you read to them!

  • READ * READ * READ to your child every single day!  Reading to them aids them in acquiring book language, develops a stronger vocabulary and improves their interest in reading!

  • Magnet Letters- Make three letter words with magnet letters on the refridgerator or cookie sheets!

  • Snow Fun!- Fill an old mustard or ketchup bottle with water and food coloring.  Take it outside and practice writing names or word wall words in the snow!

  • When traveling in the car, practice number stories with addition and subtraction facts.  Begin with numbers less than ten, then move to numbers less than twenty! For example, I have two red apples and four green apples. How many apples do I have? Or I have ten oranges. I ate two of them. How many oranges are left?

  • Find three dimensional shapes in your house! Look for cubes, spheres, cylinders and cone shapes!
