Anchor charts
Here are a few photos from around the classroom! Ask your child what they mean, and how we use them in the school day. Enjoy!
The first week of school, our class created a social contract, and we talked about ways that we can be safe, responsible, and respectful. We then signed our names at the bottom of our social contract, promising to follow these new class rules. Mrs. Hales and Mrs. Stevenson look for people who are being safe, respectful, and responsible, and reward them with a pink sticker! Don't forget to celebrate these at home!
We use these charts during our read to self time! We have build 2 minutes of stamina! What is stamina?
Our writing anchor chart! "You're not done, you've just begun!" When a student thinks he/she is finished, they can add to the pictures, add to the words, or start a new piece. We have buillt 10 minutes of writing stamina!
Our rules during Free Choice, our indoor play time. A Level 3 means that the class can use an indoor, talking voice... But no shouting!

Who Stole the Cookies?
This week, we read the poem Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar? We used this poem to practice our names!
We then discovered that nobody in the class stole cookies... Where could they be?
We looked all over the room...
It didn't take long before we found them! Froggy hid them in the kitchen!
We all enjoyed the yummy cookies as a Friday treat.
We even made a class poem book.

Centers Time!
Feed Your Face is a class favorite. It is great fine motor practice to get our small finger muscles ready for writing.
We practiced our log in procedures before trying it out in the computer lab.
We also practiced matching magnet letters to our name tags. You can do this at home to! Start with your child's name, then move on to other family names!
