Book making during writing time

Today was our first day organizing our writing into books!  First, we added "reread my writing" to our anchor chart.  

Then, I modeled how to reread our pages and group together all the pages with the same topic. In the picture above, I modeled how to find all the playground pages and group them together.  Then the class helped me find all of pages that were about the lake and group them together.  After conferencing with a teacher, the students used staplers to keep their books together.  

We are off to a great start! We are looking forward to many more days of making books!
